nope. i didn't know at the time that there was a possibility that parts of it might be disappeared.

but hey, they threw the balic bio thread into the dustbin of history, my blog was small potatoes in comparison.

The horror; the horror.

The Balic bio was an impressive piece of work. It would be interesting to theorize where it might have wandered over the years.
g.johnson
It would have returned over and over to the Argentinian lake duck and felching, as all threads must.

I was the first responder in the Balic bio... that is kind of surreal and a lifetime ago in a far away place.

Balic's bio was the first thing I ever read in eG and the reason I joined.

Does this belong here? I don't know where else to put it.

Our local ABC affiliate Channel 7, on their hour-long news at 5:00, kept doing little blurbs on the heat today which was their lead story, & kept showing the same shot of a moderately overweight black woman looking a bit sweaty as she waited for the subway in the Jay St. station.

They showed her at least 3 times, probably more, over the course of the hour. I started feeling sorry for her; does anybody really want to be the poster child for looking hot & sweaty?

If more than two or three people say "I saw you on TV" perhaps she can claim her privacy was invaded. That should be worth $50mn to $100mn with a good lawyer, easily.

They found the more moles a person had, the more likely their DNA was to have the properties to fight off ageing."BBC

Slightly better than being the poster child for the moderately overweight.

Do you have to be a twin with moles?

Does it still work if you had a lot of moles and you had them removed?

What if there are moles in your garden????

Or a company spy???

By an odd coincidence, I was at some friends' home this evening and they have got some moles they have yet to get rid of. The exterminator is coming.

I can accept that in some cultures men walk around in public while touching and shifting about their dicks. Can you accept that this poses hygiene problems in a commercial kitchen?

Walking through Penn Station this morning I saw a 10 year old boy with his mother. He was singing multiple verses of the Blackadder theme song. No Harry Potter for him.

TJ made us lunch yesterday, open-faced tuna-on-rye with giant slabs of red ripe tomato on top. We ate out on the deck, and as I was biting into my sandwich, a hummingbird – attracted by the bright red of the tomato, I suspect – buzzed up in front of my face and stuck his beak into the tomato, then quickly realized his error, pulled back a few inches, gave me what seemed an apologetic look and darted away. All in about 1.5 seconds.
