You mean the one that involved donating his stuff to the Salvation Army?

I can't remember the last time our UPS guy had a regulation stylus for me to sign on the DIAD doohickey; he hands me a retracted ballpoint pen instead. Why don't they attach the stylus with a cord?

you mean your landlord didn't supply one with your apartment?
Cathy
No. angry.gif There goes HIS holiday tip.

Get home tonight after being away for the weekend.. The little dog is sitting there not moving... Perfectly still, just unable to move.. Pick her up and take her to the vets office in Northern Jersey.. The vet happens to be a family member and she opens the place up for us.. Since there is no assistant, we end up taking Xrays, holding the dog down for shots, and acting as a helper..

The dog, who has not been by a blade of grass in 5 years has Lyme's Disease.. I dont know how this happen, or how she came in contact with a deer tick... Just a strange thing but, we are happy that its something so easily curable..
Cathy
Aw, poor little thing! I hope she's herself again soon, Daniel.
Daniel
Thanks Cathy.. The word is, she is doing perfect..

Are you guys okay?
Daniel
Yes, we are.. I am thinking, how the hell did this dog get lyme's disease.. I being a rather big germ-a-phobe, hypochondriac, shower thrice daily, type of guy, immediately bugged out.. But we can't seem to see how this happened..

My first instinct was to throw everything out in the apartment, spray the place with some industrial strength death spray, and eventually move.. But for right now, we are still exploring our options..

The test she was given last night shows exposure to Lyme's Disease.. It was done on a strip and there was a clear blue dot that showed up.. It was very pregnancy testesque.. But there is a second test that is more conclusive and takes three days.. We will know more then..

But for right now, the dog is doing a 100 percent better and is able to walk and is no longer dehydrated..

Don't you have a place upstate? Do you bring her there?
Melonious Thunk
Deer ticks are tiny and live on shrubs and bushes. It takes little other than a run through some shrubs that have been visited by a deer for the ticks to hop onto the leaves and then onto any warm blooded animal that comes by. Could be bushes in front or side of someone's house, a walk in the park. Deer are very close to "civilization" these days.

She's being so fake. I love when she tries to switch things by saying, "I'll tell you what I did think about and that was hw to put food on my kids plate" and Walters says, "You can think about both."
What a dipsh*t.
And to put it in context, they were talking about evolution.

It seems the only song that S. and I both can sing by heart is "Paul Revere" by the Beastie Boys. We realized this last night while running through our respective repertoires for The Kitten.

The scope of kids' names like the scope of subjects for tattoos has broadened immensely. I would hope the two are not related.

Perhaps. But taking the larger meaning of the obligation, our son's godfather was Catholic, his godmother was Protestant married into a secular Jewish family, and he was not Christened, but "named" in the Unitarian Church. Worked out fine.

We all recently gathered at his wedding where the priest was Buddist, the service, written by him and his bride, was based on several traditional Buddist ceremonies plus readings from Corrinthians and, finally, a recitation of The Owl and The Pussycat.

Stunned us all!

My parents are godparents of their jewish friends' son. I think it's a nice tradition, and certainly not exclusive to catholics.

a friend of mine used to tell a story (possibly made-up) of moving to l.a from new york and looking desperately for an unusual burger he'd once had in nyc named the l.a burger. he was sure he would be able to finally track it down again in l.a, but he looked to no avail. eventually he found a facsimile at some diner, where it was named the new york burger.

I, too, am confused greatly. Has she given birth?

No, apparently there was a kid up crying in the neighbor's house or walking past the house on the street.

But she had a moment of wondering if she'd somehow missed a few months...

Yesterday at the farmer's market at Lansdowne Park we noticed dozens of people wandering around with pugs on leads. Many had two or more. We found out later that it was because of the Bi-Annual Ottawa Pugfest, being held nearby. Events included a fashion show and the Wiggle-Off, where judges looked for the pug that was the best wiggler.

Also on at Landsdowne yesterday was the Ottawa Women's Show. DH said he might attend and check out the new models. I don't think that bruise will be healing for awhile smile.gif
